XY-5 spindle-type core drilling rig

Model XY-5 drilling rig is a core drilling rig featuring mechanical driving and hydraulic feed.1500meter deep holes . It is mainly used in exploring and prospecting such solid mineral deposits as diamond, carbide alloy etc . in the ground surface tiers and galleries . It can be used either for engineering geological survey, exploring of shallow petroleum natural gas , underground water or for engineering hole drilling of dam grouting and gallery ventilation and water exhaustion.

Model XY-5 is provided with self-centering hydraulic slips spider, planetary type hoist with high hoisting capacity and clutches featuring easy and reliable use. The spindle speed can be as high as 1500 rpm and as low as 85 r/min and can be varied in 8steps, hence the rig features adaptability in process and application range.

As it is very convenient for changing prime movers, power machines of other types can be replaced by users themselves at any time for their specific conditions.

Compared with ordinary hydraulic drilling rigs, Model XY-5 has the following characteristics:

1.  With rather high speed and reasonable speed range with a few steps, high torque for low speed, it is suitable for small hole diameter core drilling of diamond mine, and also for large hole diameter core drilling of carbide alloy mine and various engineering drilling.

2.  It is not so heavy and is very easy to disassemble. It can be knocked down into 9 package units, with the heaviest unit weighing only 400kg. Hence it is convenient for transport and adaptive to operation in mountain areas.

3.  It features simple construction and reasonable layout. All the units are exposed outside without any mounted on top of another, so it is easy for maintenance and repair.

4.  It has two speeds of reverse rotation for the sake of safety and labour-saving in handling any accident.

5.  It is smooth in travel of the rig and can be fixed firmly. The frame is rigid with high stability in high speed drilling.

6.  It is equipped with sufficient meters for indicating the conditions in the hole and with only a few operating handles for flexible and reliable operation.

7.  The rig and mud pump are driven respectively by their own prime movers to have a mobility in site allocation and such arrangements will cover less site space.
